A relatively new source of omega 3 fatty acids comes from the antarctic krill.  There are claims that krill oil is a superior, more concentrated source of omega 3, contains the powerful antioxidant, astaxanthin, plus it is not as susceptible to contamination as fish.

Omega 3 fatty acids are a polyunsaturated fat considered essential for healthy bodies.  But the human body cannot produce omega 3 on its own and therefore these good fatty acids must become part of the diet to maintain the body’s healthy metabolism.  Marine food is becoming more and more popular as the source for omega 3 benefits such as improvement in cardiovascular function, regulation of blood flow and blood pressure, aid with menstrual difficulties, reduction of cholesterol levels, liver and kidney support and improved brain development.  With krill being considered as a superior source for these beneficial fatty acids, it’s easy to see why people are being drawn to the thrill of krill!
